One evening about a month and a half ago, I received an e-mail while watching American Idol (don’t laugh. It’s a guilty pleasure okay?!) from Meena of 5th Avenue Weddings + Events. It said something like “Hi Bri, I have a crazy question for you. I just lost a photographer for one of my weddings in France and I’m looking for someone to replace her. Is this something that you’d be interested in?”
I’m pretty sure my jaw dropped and I stopped breathing. It took me a minute to even gather my composure so I could lean over and show Mikey the e-mail.
Long story short, everything ended up working out incredibly. The couple even happened to live in Orlando, only about two and a half hours away from us in Jacksonville! Since I absolutely love doing engagement sessions with each of my couples before their wedding (more on that in another blog post, coming soon), I was thrilled! And SO excited to meet AJ + Olivia!
Mikey and I were able to meet up with them in historic St. Augustine. We spent almost an hour sitting in a garden outside of a cafe talking about their wedding plans, and then wandered the streets, snapping pictures here and there and getting to know each other more (we even stopped in The Hyppo for incredible gourmet ice pops). The area was super busy, so finally we decided to head over to a tiny park Mikey and I had scouted out earlier. That’s where we got most of my favorite photos – these two are so gorgeous and the light was incredible!
AJ + Olivia are so much fun – we spent most of the time laughing – and I can’t wait to tell you more about their love story after their wedding this July!

We had so much fun exploring St. Augustine with you! Thanks for all the laughs and for putting up with my never ending ideas! You two make a great couple and we can’t wait to see you again in beautiful FRANCE! Less than 2 months!!
