Since Zachary + Jennifer are currently living in New Jersey and were unable to meet up for an engagement session before their wedding week, we drove up to their venue, the Horse Stamp Inn, on their rehearsal day to meet in person and do a mini shoot! Jennifer had invited us to bring Greyson along, and right away we felt so welcomed. They gave us a tour of the inn and told us all about their plans for the next day. Zachary + Jennifer have a fun and easy love that was evident almost immediately. They constantly make each other laugh and their joy was just radiating.
This was our first time at the Horse Stamp Inn, and we were blown away at the property. It felt so southern, but different from the Florida type south that we’re used to. This is definitely a venue that can be “dressed up or dressed down” – we can picture both elegant and rustic affairs taking place there!
Zachary + Jennifer actually blended the two and also included some fun and quirky details to showcase their style and relationship. Jennifer’s dress was one of my absolute favorite details of the day – and possibly one of my favorite dresses to date. Just wait until you see it! Jennifer built the wooden stands at their altar – they looked perfect with blooms sitting atop. Their two dogs were in attendance (Ellie wearing a gorgeous floral collar and Gus wearing a dapper bow tie), though unfortunately their third dog recently passed away. Jennifer wrapped the tie that he was going to wear around her bouquet instead. It was obvious that these pups are an important part of their family, and you’ll see them in several photos!
They also spray painted several small toys (plastic dinosaurs, animals, and army men) with metallics to place around so that, in Jennifer’s words, “it doesn’t get too serious”. I feel like that sentence right there is a perfect description of who they are!
