Matt, Alli and I all went to the same middle school and then high school in Pennsylvania. But with each class having around 700 or so students, I never really knew either of them, although their names sounded familiar when Alli inquired with me!
Matt and Alli knew each other, but didn’t start dating until college! Their story is adorable, and I couldn’t possibly tell it as well as Alli! In her words, “We always had classes together in high school, and as time went on, our mutual friends started to overlap more and more. We were so different, though– he continued to be the confident, handsome, well-liked athlete, while I was happy in my world of the newspaper and student government and hanging out with my parents on the weekends. Matt tells me now that he had a crush on me from the moment he first saw me in math class in eighth grade, and he had plans to ask me to the Senior prom on the very same night that I had been asked by another friend. I’d heard of his foiled plans through my best friend, and always wondered after that what could have been.”
After graduation and during her freshman year of college, Alli periodically heard from Matt. “The summer after freshman year, I was living and working in Washington, DC, and Matt took a road trip down with a mutual friend to celebrate the Fourth of July. The rest is pretty much history! We realized during that visit how much we had in common and spent hours on the phone for the next few weeks of the summer.”
They dated long distance for four years, until they both moved to Brooklyn in 2013. Now they’re ENGAGED and couldn’t be more excited for their June 2016 wedding at The Barn on Bridge! Michael and I had the best time on the Lehigh University campus (Matt’s alma mater) and historic Bethlehem for their engagement session! Matt + Alli are so in love, and it radiates through their photos. I also love Alli’s contagious laughter!
