Angie and I met in high school. Her younger sister, Alishia (the Maid of Honor) was in my grade and I remember the three of us hanging out at the Natiello house – playing with their cats (haha) and taking crazy photos that now date back 7+ years! Then when we were home from college on breaks Angie would come over and watch “The Bachelor” in my basement, which was more of an excuse to catch up on each other’s lives. Then soon enough, I heard about Kendrick. Their love story is nothing short of a fairy tale.
About two years ago, Angie traveled from Pennsylvania to Maine to be the maid of honor in her best friend Lauren’s wedding. That weekend Kendrick was the best man in his brother Erick’s wedding. And it just so happened that Lauren was marrying Erick! Sparks flew between Angie and Kendrick the entire weekend and the rest was history. Although they lived on opposite coasts (Kendrick in California and Angie in PA), they couldn’t stay apart! He visited her in Pennsylvania, and then she flew to California for Labor Day weekend. Then after spending Christmas with his family in Maine, she decided she couldn’t live apart from him any longer and booked a one way flight to California! He asked her to marry him on July 4th, 2013, and she of course said YES! Fast forward to last Friday – May 23rd, 2014 – Kendrick and Angie officially became Mr. and Mrs. Ribeiro! And Angie + Lauren, best friends since high school, officially became sisters. See? I told you it was a fairy tale! 🙂
The Natiellos and Ribeiros are two of the sweetest families I’ve ever met. They were all so warm and welcoming! My heart is SO joyful for Angie and Kendrick because I know what it’s like to gain another amazing family through marriage. It’s one of the biggest blessings!
The Ribeiro’s wedding day was full of beautiful DIY touches – including the table runners, cake topper, center pieces, and favors. They also included a lot of Kendrick’s Brazilian heritage into the details! Check out the photos below 🙂
Angie walked down the aisle with the memory of her grandparents in the form a gorgeous locket with their pictures attached to her bouquet. Such a beautiful touch!
Angie’s first look with her dad – who not only walked her down the aisle, but was the officiant as well!
Last year (when graphic design was still a part of my business), Angie asked me to create her invitation suite based around their love story. We incorporated their wedding colors (teal, turquoise, coral, and peach) in the form of a folded card to symbolize a story book. I was so honored to create these for her!
Thanks to my second shooter, Louann of Pearl Walker Photography for capturing these groom and groomsmen shots!
I loved walking into this wedding already knowing over half of the bridesmaids! Alishia, Lauren, and Lizzy I was so happy to see you all again!! Patricia and Lauren, it was great meeting you! Thank you girls for all of your help – you were amazing!
Quite possibly some of the cutest flower girls EVER. Claire (the oldest) even helped me out and got a quick lesson in photography during the reception! She snapped a few shots for me 🙂
The ceremony – Kendrick’s reaction to seeing Angie for the first time!
Kendrick’s sister, Patricia, read the the story of how the couple met – SO adorable!
Angie and Kendrick exchanged some of their vows in Portuguese, Kendrick’s native language.
Their first kiss was met with lots of ribbon wand waving from the guests! I just LOVED that idea!
Some of the beautiful details at the reception – I’m in LOVE with that cake! Angie’s best friend from high school, Lauren, made the cake topper! “Para sempre” means “forever” in Portuguese, and “amor” means “love”.
First dances…
I’m in love with this photo – the tears in Kendrick’s eyes as he dances with his mom + Angie and her father-in-law watching hand-in-hand in the distance…so beautiful and priceless! The mother/son dance was “You’ll be in my Heart” by Phil Collins…needless to say I was definitely crying at this point!
And then the party began 🙂
I love that there’s so much twirling in this photo 🙂
