What a whirlwind it’s been getting to know these two! Stephen + Heather first inquired with us for their wedding at the end of March. Two and a half weeks later we were at Big Talbot island photographing their engagement session. They live in Ohio and drove all the way to Jacksonville, Florida the night before, arriving at 2 am the day of their shoot! I’m originally from Pennsylvania and have had my share of road trips to and from Florida. And there is NO way I would have looked as put together as these two after 12+ hours in the car! We were so impressed.
When photographing beach sessions, we always say we love beaches with “character”. A pier, massive rocks, driftwood – they all add visually to photos! When talking about their session location, I barely got out the word “driftwood” and Heather quickly exclaimed, “we LOVE driftwood”! That was possibly one of the shortest location discussions we’ve ever had with a couple, haha. But we were so glad they loved the idea, because the driftwood beach at Talbot Island is stunning. Since the hurricane in 2017, it’s a bit of an adventure and hike to get down there, but SO worth it!
They’ll be getting married in Ponte Vedra Beach in October and we can’t wait for what is bound to be a super fun day! Here’s a few of our favorites from their talbot island driftwood beach engagement session.
