We’re so excited to finally share this woodsy engagement session at Julington Creek Preserve! We absolutely adore Andrew + Kristen. We met them at a bridal show, but didn’t end up seeing them again until the week of their wedding since they are currently living in California! Kristen told us she really wanted an outdoors setting with lots of trees, and Julington Creek fit the bill perfectly. We ended up having the most beautiful light for their entire session as well! So much sunshine!!
They both told us they were pretty nervous for their engagement session as it’s not often they’re in front of a camera. We actually hear this before almost every engagement we photograph! It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous. But we’ve found that the best sessions have two things in common. One, the couple comes ready to treat the session like a date. Although they may feel a little awkward coming into it, they’re still willing to be affectionate with each other. And two, the couple is willing to trust and follow our direction whole heartedly. If there’s a pose or a location you have in mind, we love to hear your ideas! The photos are all about your relationship, after all, and we really strive to make sure that they reflect your personalities! But we have photographed a handful of sessions 😉 and sometimes what we know will look amazing through a camera may not seem intuitive to a non photographer.
Andrew + Kristen did both of these things and we LOVE how their images turned out. They completely rocked the entire session, and when their wedding day came around (in this case, just a few days later), they told us they were so much more excited for their portraits now that they had practice!
